Osun Police Urge Peace After Federal High Court Local Government Ruling

Police in Osun have appealed for calm following a Federal High Court judgment in Osogbo that removed council chairmen and councillors elected on the APC platform. The command said it is closely monitoring the conduct, statements and actions of all parties. Officers warned that extrajudicial moves would not be tolerated. They urged political actors, supporters and the public to remain law-abiding and channel any grievances through established legal procedures. The Federal High Court on June 16 ordered the removal of local government officials elected in October 2022, citing a dispute over the election process.
