Did Religion Begin When Humans Added to God's Word?
I listened to a sermon by Apostle Arome Osayi in which he argued that religion began when humanity started adding personal interpretations to God's instructions. He referenced God's command to Adam about the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. According to the teaching, Adam later added to that instruction when speaking to Eve, creating a pattern in which human additions can gradually be treated as divine commands. The message raises questions for believers: Which practices come directly from Scripture, and which may be inherited traditions? How often do we study the Bible personally rather than relying only on what others have taught us? Do you agree that religion begins when people add to God's Word?
