The Fear of God Is the Beginning of Wisdom

The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, according to Psalm 111:10. Those who honour God gain wisdom and can live with greater confidence in His guidance and protection. Psalm 112 highlights blessings associated with godly living, including a blessed generation, provision, courage in difficult times, and freedom from fear of bad news. Fearing God is presented as a path to peace, righteousness, and hope for one’s family. Scripture also warns that wrongdoing can have painful consequences. The examples of Gehazi and Joab show why believers should avoid sin, deceit, violence, and actions that may bring suffering to others. If we want a peaceful future for ourselves and our children, we should live with reverence for God and pursue His ways.
