20 Years in Darkness: Ndokwa Movement Accuses Nnamdi Ezechi of Blocking Omo-Agege

20 Years in Darkness: Ndokwa Movement Accuses Nnamdi Ezechi of Blocking Omo-Agege — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The Ndokwa Peoples Movement says Hon. Nnamdi Ezechi put personal politics above community needs. They allege he sabotaged the federal IPP step-down project under Ovie Omo-Agege nearly two decades ago. They claim this act, supported by Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, has kept Ndokwa without electricity despite its gas wealth. The group points out that Ndokwa generates power for 16 states and the FCT yet still sits in the dark. They also highlight poor healthcare and education in a region rich in oil and gas activity. They call on Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other officials to act now. They warn that leaders who block basic services risk losing public support in 2027.

It's hard to believe Ezechi could stall a federal project for so long without any pushback from other lawmakers.

I'm not convinced it was purely personal politics; federal projects often face complex funding and technical issues beyond one person's control.

Local leaders should push for a transparent audit of that project's finances and timelines before demanding any accountability.
