Professor Appeals to Renaissance, Pension Administrators Over Healthcare Access
Professor Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies has appealed to Renaissance Africa Energy Company Limited, formerly Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria, and relevant pension and healthcare administrators to protect her continued access to medical care. She said administrative disputes over retirement or healthcare benefits must not interrupt essential treatment. She urged the organisations to handle her case with compassion, transparency and due process while any underlying disagreements are resolved. She referenced the ongoing Chinazam Okoli medical negligence case at the Rivers State High Court as a reminder of the severe consequences that can follow failures in medical care. She stressed that her appeal is for protection of life and humane treatment, not confrontation or a prejudgment of that case.
