Kano Leads Nigeria Family Quality of Life Survey, Cross River Lags Behind

Kano Leads Nigeria Family Quality of Life Survey, Cross River Lags Behind — 1 of 4
1 / 4

A recent survey by SBM Intelligence across eight Nigerian states reveals where families thrive and struggle. Kano tops the rankings with the best grid supply, safest streets, affordable living, and easiest access to childcare. Rivers follows closely with strong family stability, minimal disruptions, and top healthcare performance. Abuja ranks fourth, buoyed by income and support networks but held back by poor affordability and persistent power worries. At the bottom, Cross River scores last in eleven of fifteen quality metrics. Nearly nine in ten residents say they want to leave amid failing schools, impassable roads, and spotty electricity. Lagos’s housing crisis and surging rents weigh heavily on its ranking, while Anambra has moved to take over electricity distribution to address its power shortages.
