NNPCL Starts Eba Well Drilling as Ogun Becomes Nigeria’s Newest Oil State

Ogun State has officially joined Nigeria’s oil-producing states with the commencement of drilling at the Eba oil well in Ogun Waterside LGA. The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited leads the project under federal approval. Governor Dapo Abiodun described the development as a landmark achievement that will create jobs, attract investment and boost economic activity in coastal communities. He stressed that security, environmental protection and community engagement remain top priorities. The Eba well is part of a broader strategy to expand oil production beyond the Niger Delta and strengthen the country’s energy sector.
