COOUTH CMD Urges New Doctors to Prepare for Career Opportunities
The Chief Medical Director of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University Teaching Hospital, Amaku-Awka, Dr Maureen Uche Umeakuewulu, has advised newly graduated doctors to be proactive and position themselves for career opportunities. She spoke when the 2026 Medicine and Surgery graduating class of Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University visited her. The graduates requested housemanship placements at COOUTH as they prepare to begin their medical careers. Umeakuewulu said the hospital may be unable to take the entire class at once because of existing capacity limits. She, however, assured them that some graduates would be considered for placement as opportunities arise.
