Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has awarded ₦50 million to players, coaches and officials of the Real Madrid Academy in Port Harcourt after their tour of the United Kingdom. The state-sponsored delegation included 60 players and 12 coaches and officials. The governor praised the team’s discipline and performance, saying they represented Rivers State and Nigeria well. Some players are reportedly attracting interest from clubs and teams in the United Kingdom and Italy. Fubara said his administration would continue supporting grassroots sports and youth talent development.
