Why I Believe God’s Example in the Bible Affirms Women
I believe the Bible shows that God values, protects and uses women for His purpose. From Sarah, Deborah and Esther to Anna, the Samaritan woman and the women who first witnessed Christ’s resurrection, I see repeated examples of women being trusted with leadership, testimony and spiritual responsibility. My concern is that some church traditions appear to treat women differently from the example set by God and Jesus. I believe believers should follow God’s example rather than man-made rules that silence or limit women in the work of faith. This is not meant to flatter women or excuse wrongdoing by anyone. Rather, I hope it encourages women to remain humble before God and be open to the greater works He can do through them. I was also moved by testimonies from women who lost their fathers but found comfort, provision and direction in God. To me, those experiences strengthen the belief that God cares deeply for women and can fill the void left by a father’s absence.
