Birds Ravaged My 9-Acre Ofada Rice Farm: What Can I Do Next?
I was not prepared for the damage birds caused on my Ofada rice farm. When I visited yesterday, I was devastated. They had seriously attacked the crop across all nine acres, and I could not sleep afterwards. It appears they fed on the rice while it was still milky, before the grains could fully form. I am also wondering whether the person I employed had enough experience with Ofada rice production. The workers told me that some of the bird-damaged rice may not even be worth harvesting. Apart from catapults and making noise, what effective methods can farmers use to keep birds away? I hear scarecrows eventually stop working because birds get used to them. Farmers with experience in rice, especially Ofada, please advise me. I am still waiting for an update on the number of bags that can be recovered, and I will share it when I get it.
