WAFCON 2026: Zambia Coach Says Copper Queens Missed Chance to Beat 10-Woman Nigeria
Zambia coach Nora Häuptle says the Copper Queens missed a major chance to beat Nigeria’s Super Falcons in their WAFCON 2026 Group C match. Asisat Oshoala’s first-half goal gave Nigeria a 1-0 win. The Super Falcons played much of the game with 10 players after Tosin Demehin received a straight red card for a foul on Barbra Banda. Häuptle said Zambia failed to make their numerical advantage count after the break. She believes her side controlled spells of the game but did not create enough dangerous chances. Zambia must now beat Malawi in their next match and hope Nigeria slip against Egypt.
