Lagos Police Chief Withdraws Task Force from Traffic Enforcement

Lagos Police Chief Withdraws Task Force from Traffic Enforcement

Tijani Fatai, the Lagos Commissioner of Police, has ordered the immediate withdrawal of the State Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences Unit from all traffic control and contravention duties. In a statement shared on social media, police spokesperson Abimbola Adebisi said the directive aims to streamline traffic management operations and promote professionalism and accountability. He stressed that the unit’s other responsibilities remain unchanged. Motorists and residents are urged to verify the identity of any enforcement personnel before lodging complaints. The Lagos State Police Command reassures the public of its commitment to safeguarding lives and property and calls for cooperation with all legitimate security agencies.

Are you wondering how removal of that unit might affect congestion levels during rush hours?
