Wike Labels Peter Obi a ‘Food Is Ready’ Politician Who Shuns National Challenges

At a monthly media briefing in Abuja, FCT Minister Nyesom Wike took aim at former Labour Party candidate Peter Obi. Wike accused Obi of preferring easy wins instead of tackling hard issues. He questioned the feasibility of Obi’s pledge to raise Nigeria’s electricity capacity to 10,000MW. “Peter Obi likes ‘food is ready’, mama put. He doesn’t want struggling,” Wike said. He argued that real leadership demands resilience and a readiness to face systemic problems head-on. According to Wike, anyone vying to lead over 200 million people must show a willingness to confront adversity rather than retreat from political or administrative obstacles.
