Army Dismantles 10 Illegal Refineries, Seizes ₦250m in Stolen Oil

Army Dismantles 10 Illegal Refineries, Seizes ₦250m in Stolen Oil

Troops of the Nigerian Army recovered 156,000 litres of stolen petroleum products valued at about ₦250 million during a 25-day operation in the Niger Delta. The 6 Division, working with other security agencies, arrested nine suspects and destroyed illegal refining equipment at ten sites. They seized over 130,000 litres of crude oil and 26,000 litres of diesel. In Rivers State, soldiers intercepted an abandoned truck on the East-West Road in Ahoada and found 266 sacks of crude oil in Ebocha. Additional sites in Abessa Forest and Abua/Odual LGA were dismantled. In Delta and Akwa Ibom, tapping points, storage pits and 45 bags of refined diesel were uncovered.
