Anambra Football League Opens With 0-0 Draw as 61 Matches Get Underway
The second edition of the Anambra State Football League kicked off on August 30 at Awka City Stadium, beginning with a goalless draw between Peace FC of Awka and Ozalla FA of Obosi. The competition will feature 61 matches. Orogbu said the league can help talented young players pursue professional football careers while promoting fitness, discipline and teamwork. She also urged participating clubs to use the tournament to showcase their abilities. The competition is sponsored by High Chief Jim Martins Nwabueze and organised by the Anambra State Football Association. Orogbu said she plans to introduce a similar sports competition in her constituency to support grassroots talent development.
