Helicopter Crashes in Igbokoda, Ondo; Casualties Yet to Be Confirmed

A helicopter crashed on Monday in a swampy area of Igbokoda, Ilaje Local Government Area of Ondo State, opposite the Naval Base. The Ondo State Police Command confirmed the crash and said officials were still gathering details. Access to the site was reportedly difficult because of the terrain. Ilaje council chairman Maurice Oripelaye said military equipment was found around the scene and the helicopter was burnt badly. However, authorities have not confirmed the aircraft’s operator, the number of people onboard, casualties, or whether there were survivors. Residents have been urged to remain calm and avoid sharing unverified information while investigations continue.
