FUTI Students Make History with Landmark E-Voting SUG Election

FUTI Students Make History with Landmark E-Voting SUG Election — 1 of 4
1 / 4

The Federal University of Technology Ilaro has ushered in a new chapter of student leadership with its first-ever electronic voting exercise. Accredited agents and student representatives oversaw a process praised as peaceful, free, fair and unbiased by the Dean of Student Affairs. Following constituency-level SRC elections, form sales, candidate screenings and manifesto presentations, students cast digital ballots for the 2025/2026 Student Union Government. Voter turnout spanned all schools and departments, reflecting strong campus engagement. Adebayo Erinayo Precious, Isaaq Jamaldeen Olamilekan and Adeyemi Emmanuel Damilare are among the elected officers headed by President Damilare with 722 votes. Financial Secretary-elect Oluwarotimi Stephen “El Professor” Oluwaseun pledges open-door accountability as the Union builds governance structures for FUTI’s new university status.
