CAN Urges Tinubu to Move Beyond Mourning Statements and Take Action Against Violence

The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has challenged President Bola Tinubu to do more than issue press statements following the Palm Sunday attack in Angwan Rukuba, Plateau State. In a statement on Monday, CAN President Archbishop Daniel Okoh described the assault—carried out by gunmen in security uniforms—as a tragic violation of a sacred day. He demanded urgent identification, arrest, and prosecution of those responsible. Archbishop Okoh also called on citizens to stay vigilant during Holy Week and cooperate with security agencies. He warned that words alone cannot stop the bloodshed and stressed the need for lasting protection of lives and property.
