Rabiu Kwankwaso Poised to Join ADC This Wednesday
Strong indicators emerged that former Kano State governor Rabiu Kwankwaso will formally obtain his African Democratic Congress (ADC) membership card on Wednesday in his hometown of Kwankwaso, Madobi LGA. In recent weeks, Kwankwaso has hosted top ADC figures—including Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate Peter Obi—at his Kano residence, fueling speculation about his defection. Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde also met with him amid claims he is considering a move to the ADC. Makinde leads a faction of the PDP under Kabiru Turaki that remains in a leadership dispute with Nyesom Wike’s camp. Meanwhile, the ADC’s constitution review committee submitted its report to national leaders. National Chairman Senator David Mark, speaking through the party’s legal adviser, emphasized that the revised constitution must reflect current realities and strengthen internal democracy, transparency, and accountability across all levels of the party.
