ACF Sounds Alarm: Nigeria’s Insecurity at ‘State of War’, Demands Wartime Measures
The Arewa Consultative Forum has warned that Nigeria’s security crisis has reached a ‘state of war’ and must be treated as a national emergency. Issued after its 38th Board of Trustees meeting in Abuja, the communiqué brought together former top security and government officials. It notes that insurgency, banditry and communal clashes have escalated into a full-scale threat against national survival. The forum urged the Federal Government to adopt a ‘wartime approach’ by redirecting resources from non-essential projects to urgent security measures. It stressed that restoring safety is a prerequisite for economic recovery and lasting development.
