TikToker Denies Filming Oloolu Masquerade, Says She Is Alive After Ibadan Rite

TikToker Wasilat Olalere has denied claims that she secretly recorded the annual Oloolu masquerade festival in Ibadan, Oyo State. She also dismissed rumours that she died after the incident, saying she is alive and well. Speaking on a local radio programme, Olalere said she only filmed activity around Oremeji after seeing people and an Amotekun vehicle pass by. She insisted that the Oloolu masquerade did not pass through the route and said she deleted the video after viewers urged her to remove it. She said traditionalists later took her to Ode Aje for appeasement rites over the allegation. According to her account, she was dressed in red, her hair was shaved, and a goat was slaughtered during the ceremony.
