Mr P Responds to Backlash: ‘Celebrities Alone Can’t Fix Nigeria’

Nigerian singer Peter Okoye, known as Mr P, addressed criticism over celebrity involvement in the country’s security crisis during a recent Wazobia FM interview. He apologised for earlier remarks about stepping back from national issues, acknowledging that not everyone can afford private security. Mr P stressed that real change depends on collective effort rather than relying solely on public figures. “Everyone clamouring for celebrities to solve governance problems should redirect their energy,” he said. “It’s our country, and together we can bring the positive change we need.”
