Kogi IRS Revenue Leaps from ₦700m to ₦3.5bn, Refutes Misconduct Claims
Kogi State Internal Revenue Service reports a jump in internally generated revenue from ₦700 million in 2021 to over ₦3.5 billion in 2026. At a Lokoja press briefing, KGIRS leadership dismissed allegations of financial misconduct and administrative irregularities as baseless and intended to undermine the agency’s integrity. The Directorate of Legal Services handles staff investigations and discipline under established procedures, not the Executive Chairman directly. KGIRS also highlighted routine staff transfers, ongoing professional training programmes, and justified recent office upgrades. All revenues are remitted into government-approved accounts supervised by the State Accountant General, with no personal accounts or signatory powers for the Chairman. The Service warned against cyber defamation and reaffirmed its commitment to transparency, accountability, and sustained revenue growth.
