International Sting Nets Nigerian Billionaire Drug Lord and Female Accomplices
A Nigerian billionaire drug kingpin, Amadi Simon, was arrested in Switzerland in a joint operation by the NDLEA, US Drug Enforcement Administration, and law enforcement partners in Europe. His alleged collaborators, Jecinta Amara Ikechi and Blessing Ngozi Amadi, were arrested in Anambra and Delta states. Investigators traced hundreds of billions of naira in illicit funds laundered through shell companies, bank accounts, and cryptocurrency. Three hotels in Delta and an Abuja apartment linked to the syndicate have been impounded. Dozens of bank and crypto accounts were also identified and frozen as proceeds of drug-related financial crimes. NDLEA Chairman Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (retd) praised the international collaboration and reaffirmed the agency’s zero-tolerance policy against drug trafficking and money laundering.
