Tunisia Sack Coach Lamouchi After 5-1 World Cup Defeat to Sweden

Tunisia Sack Coach Lamouchi After 5-1 World Cup Defeat to Sweden

Tunisia have parted ways with head coach Sabri Lamouchi after their 5-1 loss to Sweden in the opening game of the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Carthage Eagles were outplayed and the federation moved quickly to make a change. Former coach Mondher Kebaier will take over on an interim basis. He will lead Tunisia when they face Japan in their next group match on June 21. Lamouchi’s spell began in January 2026. He oversaw a goalless draw with Canada, a narrow defeat to Austria and a 5-0 loss to Belgium, ending with just one goal scored and 11 conceded in four matches.
