Bayero University Bans Private Electric Vehicle Charging on Campus Over Power Costs

Bayero University Kano has banned the charging of privately owned electric motorcycles and other electric vehicles on all its campuses with immediate effect. The university said the use of its power supply for private vehicle charging has contributed to sharply higher electricity bills and is no longer sustainable. The directive applies to staff, students, commercial motorcycle operators and other users. University authorities said violators may face disciplinary action. Provosts, deans, directors, heads of departments and unit heads have been directed to monitor compliance, while a central monitoring team will conduct regular patrols.
