Manchester United Striker Benjamin Sesko Ruled Out Until January With Shin Injury
Manchester United striker Benjamin Sesko is expected to be sidelined until at least January after suffering a shin injury. The Slovenia international has not played since he was substituted during United’s Carabao Cup defeat to Brighton on 16 September. Reports say the club carried out several tests, with the problem now understood to be an impact injury rather than shin splints. Sesko’s absence leaves manager Michael Carrick without an orthodox centre-forward for key Premier League fixtures against Liverpool and Arsenal, as well as upcoming Champions League matches. The 23-year-old has scored twice this season after netting 14 goals in 38 appearances across all competitions last term. United are 16th in the league and have not won in any competition since 10 September. Carrick is expected to remain in charge for Saturday’s match against Chelsea despite recent pressure over the team’s form.
