US Congress Honors Atta Onoja for Advancing Global Trade and Diaspora Links

A Nigerian professional, Atta Onoja, received a Congressional Proclamation from the US House of Representatives in recognition of his contributions to international trade, economic cooperation and diaspora engagement. The honour was presented by Congressman Hakeem Jeffries during the Guyana Independence Committee of New York’s 60th anniversary event. It highlights Onoja’s two decades of experience in shipping, marketing, distribution and energy, as well as his leadership of the African Caribbean Chamber of Trade, Commerce and Industry. Onoja dedicated the recognition to Nigerians making positive global contributions. He urged young professionals to pursue excellence and service as pathways to international impact. The award underscores how private sector leaders can complement diplomacy by promoting investment, fostering cross-border collaboration and showcasing Nigeria’s strengths on the world stage.
