Army Clarifies False Reports on Brigadier General Braimah’s Death in Borno Ambush
The Nigerian Army has dismissed claims that Brigadier General Oseni Braimah died due to an unserviceable vehicle during the attack on the Benisheikh military base in Borno State. In its statement, the North-East Joint Task Force Operation Hadin Kai confirmed that only four personnel lost their lives, not the 17 reported. The Media Information Officer, Lt. Col. Sanni Uba, described the viral reports as false, misleading and exaggerated. He stated that verified records show two officers and two soldiers were killed. Any higher casualty figures are unfounded and lack credibility. The official casualty report, previously released by Defence Headquarters, remains the authoritative source on the incident.
