Woman Alarms Over Destructive Behavior of Some Fulani Herders
A Fulani woman has stirred online debate by sharing personal encounters with herders she says behaved irresponsibly. In one incident, a man entered her compound, cut down a tree, and fed it to his cattle. When challenged, he insisted his animals had the right to graze and refused to leave. She says things escalated despite attempts to resolve the dispute and that the case was later linked to retaliation in the Marhaba attack. Another friend’s experience involved herders ignoring property fences, allowing cows to trample crops and even demanding access at the gate. Her accounts have drawn mixed reactions as Nigerians weigh in on rights and responsibilities in herder–community relations. Comments continue to pour in from all sides of the debate.
