Nigeria Wins Bid to Host 2027 Africa Beach Games in Lagos

Nigeria has secured hosting rights for the 2027 Africa Beach Games Championship. The National Sports Commission confirmed the announcement in a statement on Friday. The bid was revealed by the President of the Association of National Olympic Committees of Africa, Mustapha Berraf, during his visit to the commission's headquarters in Abuja. Lagos will stage the championship. This move aligns with the commission’s strategy to boost the sports economy, strengthen tourism and create opportunities for athletes and businesses. It follows Nigeria’s recent confirmation as host of the 2027 African School Games in Abuja, with plans underway to bring Olympic qualifiers to the country ahead of the 2030 Games.
