Six Family Members Killed as Collapsed Water Tank Destroys Enugu Home
Six members of one family were killed after an overhead water tank collapsed onto their home in Nenwenta community, Awgu LGA of Enugu State. The incident followed torrential rainfall and landslides on September 18. The victims included a man, his wife, their three children and their grandmother. A four-year-old child was rescued from the rubble and taken to hospital for treatment. Landslides reportedly cut off Nenwenta and neighbouring Ugwueme, delaying emergency access. Lawmakers have urged the relevant agencies to reopen the road, provide relief materials and take steps to prevent further disasters.
