Tinubu Goes Solar at Aso Rock While Millions of Nigerians Remain in the Dark

A new video shows Nigeria’s seat of power, Aso Rock Villa, disconnected from the national grid and now running on solar panels. The Tinubu administration cited annual bills of ₦47 billion to justify the move. In 2025, President Bola Tinubu approved ₦10 billion for the solar installation. The government also secured partnerships worth $5.3 billion for wider grid expansion. Yet millions of Nigerians still endure unreliable electricity while Aso Rock enjoys steady light.
