Kogi Red Cross Appeals for Stronger Partnerships to Boost Humanitarian Response

Kogi Red Cross Appeals for Stronger Partnerships to Boost Humanitarian Response

The Kogi State branch of the Nigerian Red Cross Society has called on government bodies, public office holders and private individuals to join forces in addressing the needs of vulnerable communities, health emergencies and disaster management. At the investiture of new honorary members in Lokoja, Branch Chairman Comrade Benjamin Ajodo stressed that expanding the “Circle of Humanity” requires active support from respected leaders. He welcomed the Speaker of the State Assembly, the Head of Service, a gubernatorial media adviser and the Health Insurance Agency’s executive secretary, urging them to champion humanitarian causes. Ajodo appealed for a dedicated state headquarters, a fully equipped ambulance and an annual subvention for emergency operations, volunteer training and outreach. He assured contributors that all resources would be managed prudently. The Head of Service, speaking on behalf of the new members, thanked the Society for the honour and pledged their steadfast support for its humanitarian mission.
