When a Friendship Freed a Nation: Mandela & Tambo’s Unbreakable Bond
Scripture: “A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.” — Proverbs 17:17 NKJV Mandela and Tambo met at South Africa’s Fort Hare University in the 1940s. They built the first Black law firm in Johannesburg, offering legal aid to thousands suffering under apartheid. After Mandela’s imprisonment in 1964 and Tambo’s exile, their partnership spanned prison walls and continents. Tambo kept the ANC alive abroad while Mandela’s status fueled the global anti-apartheid campaign. This story teaches a divine partnership principle: God often assigns unseen partners to carry our work when we cannot. Let’s honour those who stand with us in hardship. Prayer: Father, thank You for every partner who upholds my calling. Help me to be faithful to those who carry the outside of my assignment. In Jesus’ Name, Amen.
