LASTMA GM Extends Eid El-Fitr Greetings, Promises Smooth Traffic in Lagos
The General Manager of LASTMA, Olalekan Bakare-Oki, has warmly felicitated with Muslim brothers and sisters as they celebrate Eid El-Fitr. He urged them to carry forward the discipline, patience and civic responsibility they built during Ramadan into daily life. Bakare-Oki reaffirmed LASTMA’s zero-tolerance stance on traffic violations before, during and after the festivities. He warned against reckless driving, illegal parking, route breaches and other unsafe practices that could endanger lives or cause congestion. To ensure smooth vehicular movement, the Authority has deployed personnel to highways, major junctions and socio-religious hotspots. LASTMA will maintain round-the-clock monitoring and coordinate with security and emergency agencies to swiftly address any traffic issues. The GM called on all Lagosians to cooperate with officials, respect traffic rules and prioritise safety. He stressed that collective responsibility is key to a peaceful, congestion-free celebration.
