Why I Do Not Want to Have Children in Nigeria Yet
I do not hate children or life. I simply do not want to bring a child into hardship while I am still struggling to stay afloat. Poor governance, insecurity, unemployment, weak healthcare, unreliable electricity and inadequate infrastructure make raising children feel frightening. I do not want my children to inherit the same daily battle for survival. I want them to have quality education, good healthcare and the freedom to enjoy life without constant fear about basic needs. Until I believe I can offer that stability, choosing not to have children feels like responsibility, not hatred.
