Over 400 Delta Residents Receive Free Eye Care and Surgeries in Warri

More than 400 residents of Warri and nearby Delta communities received free eye care during a three-day outreach organised by the AVM Terry Omatsola Okorodudu Foundation in partnership with the Africa Cataract and Eye Foundation. The programme provided eye screenings, cataract and glaucoma surgeries, medication, and prescription glasses. More than 100 pairs of reading and prescription glasses were distributed, while patients with cataracts, glaucoma and other vision problems received treatment at Agbowu Medical Centre and Harvard Specialist Hospital in Warri. Organisers said the initiative honours the late Air Vice Marshal Terry Omatsola Okorodudu’s commitment to humanitarian service. The foundation also awarded five scholarships to indigent students and said it plans to make the free eye-care outreach an annual programme.
