Aliagan Re-elected NGIJ President After One-Vote Victory

Abdulrahman Aliagan has been re-elected president of the Nigerian Guild of Investigative Journalists for a second term. The 2026 electoral committee said 47 eligible members were accredited for the virtual election held on September 30. Aliagan secured 24 votes, narrowly defeating Bolaji Israel, who received 23 votes. Other elected officers are Oyelola Oyewale as Vice President for Information and Administration, James Ezema as Vice President for Investigation, Rowland Shuwa as General Secretary, and Kehinde Adeleye as Public Relations Officer.
