INEC Suspends ADC Communications Pending Court Ruling

On 31 March 2026, INEC reviewed letters from Senator David Mark’s faction and other stakeholders detailing the ADC congress schedule and officer nominations. The Electoral Commission noted submissions made in July and September 2025. At its meeting, INEC resolved to maintain the status quo ante bellum as ordered by the Court of Appeal. It will not recognise any changes or monitor ADC meetings until the Federal High Court rules on the ongoing dispute. INEC will also remove the names of the current ADC National Working Committee from its portal as directed. The Commission emphasised its neutrality and urged all parties to respect the electoral timetable for the 2027 general election.
