Why Should Success Have to Begin With Suffering?
Sometimes, I wish I had been born into a financially comfortable family. There is nothing lazy or ungrateful about admitting that a better starting point can make life easier. Many young people are told that hardship builds character, but poverty often creates barriers that money could have prevented. It is difficult to focus on learning a skill, starting a business or pursuing a dream when transport, school fees, food and rent are constant worries. People from wealthy homes may receive support, connections and room to make mistakes. That does not mean they are incapable. It means they had opportunities that others do not have. Hardship can teach lessons, but it should not be romanticised. I want a life where young people can chase their goals without treating survival as the price of success. I want to live, not just survive.
