Anambra Airport Taxi Operators Petition Over Air Peace CSO’s Alleged Extortion of Passengers
Taxi operators at Chinua Achebe International Airport, Umueri, have filed a petition accusing a staff member of Air Peace of undermining their operations. They claim that Chigozia, the airline’s Chief Security Officer in Anambra, has intercepted arriving passengers and diverted them from official taxi services. Operators say this conduct has disrupted business and caused financial losses. In video evidence dated 21 June 2026, he is seen moving passenger luggage, conveying travellers in his private vehicle, handling belongings in “unusual” ways and allegedly requesting cash transfers during interactions. The drivers are calling on Air Peace, the NCAA and FAAN to launch independent investigations and for the airline to conduct an internal review. No official response has yet been issued, and all allegations remain unverified pending inquiry.
