Ikpeme, Abdulrahaman Assume Interim Roles as NFF Overhauls Football Administration
Dr Emmanuel Ikpeme has been appointed interim General Secretary of the Nigeria Football Federation, while Dr Ayo Abdulrahaman takes over as Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Premier Football League. The changes follow the resignation of NFF President Ibrahim Gusau, General Secretary Mohammed Sanusi and members of the federation’s executive committee. Ademola Olajire has also been named interim Deputy General Secretary. The National Sports Commission directed league board members and non-NFF staff chief executives to vacate their positions. Their duties will be handed to NFF-employed Chief Operating Officers or newly deployed officers. The planned NFF Elective Congress has been suspended pending wide-ranging reforms, which the Federal Government says will be developed in consultation with FIFA, CAF and football stakeholders.
