Super Eagles Arrive in Moscow for Russia Friendly After Guinea-Bissau Defeat
The Super Eagles have arrived in Moscow for Tuesday’s international friendly against Russia at the Nizhny Novgorod Stadium. The match is Nigeria’s final fixture of the international break and only the second senior meeting between the two countries. Nigeria are looking to respond after a 3-0 defeat to Guinea-Bissau in the 2027 AFCON qualifiers, a result that left the team bottom of their group after two matches. Captain Wilfred Ndidi and Akpe Victory have withdrawn from the squad, with John Otomewo and Vince Osuji called up as replacements. Moses Simon is expected to lead an experimental side that includes home-based players Chibuzor Atata, Aderemi Adeoye and Kenneth Igboke.
