Ben Affleck Wins $1 Million for Charity on Who Wants to Be a Millionaire
Ben Affleck has won the $1 million top prize on the US edition of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, with the money going to his Eastern Congo Initiative charity. The actor partnered with Jeopardy! champion Jamie Ding for the special episode. They cleared the $500,000 question by identifying the Wright brothers’ first powered flight as an achievement once wrongly predicted to be many years away. For the final question, they had to identify the name that had never been given to a turkey pardoned by a US president. After using a lifeline and taking host Jimmy Kimmel’s suggestion, they chose “Spaghetti & Meatball” and won the jackpot. Affleck joins the small group of celebrity contestants to have claimed the show’s top prize for charity.
