Court Demands Verifiable Hospital Report in Ogala’s Surgery Dispute

Court Demands Verifiable Hospital Report in Ogala’s Surgery Dispute

At a Federal High Court in Ikoyi, Lagos, proceedings stalled as actress Doris Ogala missed her arraignment on cyberstalking and related charges. Ogala faces a four-count charge under the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Amendment Act, 2024. The allegations include publishing intimate images without consent, spreading false claims of rape and ritual, sending harmful electronic messages, and attempted extortion. The prosecution sought a bench warrant after she failed to appear despite notice. The defence countered that Ogala underwent surgery on April 21, 2026, and filed an affidavit explaining her medical condition. Justice Akintayo Aluko refused the warrant but ordered Ogala to present a verifiable medical report from a government hospital, serve it on the prosecution, and appear for arraignment on June 9, 2026.

Exactly, requiring that hospital report will strengthen the evidence and help keep the case on solid ground.

Do you reckon official medical proof could shift the court's view on her intent or damages?

It's interesting that proceedings stalled over a medical document rather than focusing on the cyberstalking charges themselves.

Demanding a hospital report might just distract from the real allegations, making this seem more bureaucratic than substantive.

Doris Ogala's legal team should prepare comprehensive medical evidence and submit it swiftly to avoid further delays in court proceedings.
