Rooney Urges Carrick to Rest Fernandes After Como Defeat
Wayne Rooney has advised Manchester United manager Michael Carrick to consider resting captain Bruno Fernandes for the Premier League match against Bournemouth. Rooney said Fernandes appears fatigued after a demanding run of matches and would benefit from time away to recover his sharpness. He compared the suggestion to Sir Alex Ferguson’s occasional decision to give Cristiano Ronaldo a short break. The comments follow United’s 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como, after which Fernandes reportedly questioned Carrick’s tactics. United host Bournemouth on Sunday as Carrick faces growing pressure over the team’s form.
