Delta Community Seeks Court Order to Halt Proposed Ugbolu-Okpanam Boundary Exercise

Obodogwugwu Quarters in Okpanam Kingdom, Oshimili North LGA of Delta State, has filed a suit at the Delta State High Court over a proposed boundary delineation involving Ugbolu Settlement. In Suit No. AKU/47/2026, the community is challenging further administrative action on the exercise. The defendants include the Obi of Ugbolu, the Delta State Deputy Governor, the Attorney-General, the Surveyor-General, the Lands Commissioner and the state boundary technical committee. The claimants are seeking injunctions to stop further entry into the disputed land and halt any boundary identification or demarcation pending the case. They also seek declarations over the land known as Ani Uzo-Olu and N500 million in damages for alleged trespass. The community urged all parties to remain peaceful and allow the court to determine the dispute in line with the law.
