Okonkwo: NDC Flagbearer Status Won’t Win Aso Rock, Tinubu Is Real Contest

Kenneth Okonkwo challenged calls for politicians to step down for Peter Obi. He argued that winning a party primary doesn’t make anyone president. The real race, he said, is against President Tinubu in the general election. He quipped that if flagbearer status alone secured Aso Rock, he’d join those urging contenders to step aside so the Southeast could produce the next president. Okonkwo added that Obi should even ask Tinubu to step down if he believes in candidates withdrawing. Okonkwo also praised the ADC primary process, noting it was free from allegations of monetization or dollarization that have marred past party polls.
